About Snob Hollow Inn
About the Property
Snob Hollow Inn is a modern 3-story hotel with 8 guest rooms. Adjacent to Snob Hollow is The Mayor's House, a historic building where two additional guest rooms are located. Snob Hollow Inn is a five minute walk from the Anchorage Depot, and a five minute walk to the heart of Downtown Anchorage.

About the Family
The Inn is family-owned and operated. Sisters Holly Spoth-Torres and Mandy Spoth, along with Holly's husband Jose Torres, work together to operate the two properties that comprise Snob Hollow Inn. The Inn opened for business in February 2024; the previous owner operated under the name Anchorage Downtown Guest House.
When you stay at Snob Hollow Inn, you are part of the family! Make sure to say hi - we love to talk about all things Buffalo Bills, Downtown Anchorage, and Liverpool Football Club!

Holly Spoth-Torres & Jose Torres
Holly and Jose met in Denali Park in 2000 where they were seasonal workers. Holly was working at Denali National Park and Jose for a flightseeing company. They moved south to Anchorage in 2005, got married, and have called Anchorage their home ever since. Holly and Jose love Downtown Anchorage and in 2021 fulfilled a life-long goal of purchasing a historic property – the Leopold David House, former home of Anchorage’s first Mayor. Holly operates her primary business out of the Mayor’s house, Huddle AK, a landscape architecture and planning consulting firm. When Holly and Jose learned that the property next door was available, they decided to double down on Anchorage and invest in Downtown by launching Snob Hollow Inn in January of 2024. Holly and Jose are so proud of this little corner of Historic Downtown Anchorage.

Mandy Spoth
Mandy is the General Manager at Snob Hollow Inn. She moved to Alaska in 2023 when Holly and Jose began dreaming up Snob Hollow Inn. Previously Mandy lived in North Carolina, where she raised her two kids and worked as a digital artist. When Mandy was sixteen years old, her first job was at a bed & breakfast; this new adventure in Anchorage brings her full circle back to the hospitality industry.

Anastasiia Biba
Anastasiia joined Snob Hollow Inn in 2025 as the Assistant General Manager. She has been living in Anchorage since 2023 and enjoys exploring the city and its many miles of hiking trails. Her favorite places to hike are Earthquake Park and Kincaid Park. Anastasiia previously worked as a manager at a small family-owned hotel in her home country of Ukraine, in the city of Odesa, located on the coast of the Black Sea. She brings a warmth and vitality to our small business, and we are excited to welcome her to the Snob Hollow Inn family.

About the Name "Snob Hollow"
Snob Hollow was the nickname of this neighborhood when the townsite of Anchorage was laid out in 1915. Anchorage's wealthiest residents built their homes here in "Snob Hollow", including the city's first mayor, Leopold David. His home - which we affectionately call The Mayor's House - still stands next door to the Inn. This archive image shows the Mayor's House on the right. The road in the foreground is Christensen Drive.

DENA’INA EŁNENA
Dena’ina Homeland
We live, work and welcome travelers on Dena’ina land. We recognize the past and present stewardship of this land by the Dena’ina People, and we honor the culture and language of the Dena’ina People in our community.
This land acknowledgement is part our ongoing effort to recognize and understand the histories and current experiences of Indigenous peoples whose land we occupy and visit. We believe that a visit to Alaska is not complete without acknowledging and enjoying Alaska Native culture. A few ways to do that are by visiting the Arctic Studies Center at the Anchorage Museum or spend an afternoon at the Alaska Native Heritage Center. Learn more about The Dena'ina People on the Visit Anchorage website.
Anchorage is located on the traditional homelands of the Dena'ina people.
