Iditarod
The Iditarod is the first Sunday in March each winter. The ceremonial start takes place in Downtown Anchorage, near 4th Avenue and D Street. The Iditarod is preceded every year at the end of February by the Fur Rendevous Festival, known as "Rondy."

We recommend Downtown Bicycle Rental, which provides year round rentals and is open 8am to 11pm in the summer. They also operate the Flattop Mountain Shuttle which takes to you Anchorage's popular Flattop Mountain Trail.
