The Anchorage Museum is a large art, history, ethnography, ecology and science museum located in a modern building in the heart of Anchorage. It is dedicated to studying and exploring the land, peoples, art and history of Alaska.

The museum displays material from its permanent collection, along with regular visiting exhibitions.

Historic and scenic tours of Anchorage, where guides share history, family stories, and explore Anchorage's past and present. The trolley tours start and end in front of the Visitor's Center in downtown Anchorage. 

The trailhead of the popular Tony Knowles Coastal Trail is just steps from Snob Hollow Inn. It is a multi-use trail that is open year-round.

The Log Cabin Visitor Information Center is where you will find experts who are in the know about the things to see and do in Anchorage! Plan to make a stop to learn about all the exciting things you can do in Anchorage during your visit. They also have a location at the Anchorage Airport. 

The Iditarod is the first Sunday in March each winter. The ceremonial start takes place in Downtown Anchorage, near 4th Avenue and D Street. The Iditarod is preceded every year at the end of February by the Fur Rendevous Festival, known as "Rondy." 

Take a bike ride through Anchorage on a rented bike! Here's a list of tour & rental companies to choose from. The Moose Loop is a 32-mile urban greenway loop that connects a number of established trails to form the shape of a moose. 

We recommend Downtown Bicycle Rental, which provides year round rentals and is open 8am to 11pm in the summer. They also operate the Flattop Mountain Shuttle which takes to you Anchorage's popular Flattop Mountain Trail.
